The Just the Way You Are program targets 5th grade girls in order to strengthen their body images so they will be less susceptible to society’s negative messages. This is taught through looking at the differences between “real” and photo shopped beauty, discussions on how the media’s portrayal can lead to negative body images, and interactive compliment circles.
