HEAL has launched our Healthy Business Challenge! The challenge encourages businesses to implement workplace-wide projects and activities that impact health and wellness of their employees.
As part of this Challenge, criteria have been developed in three categories: Healthy Eating, Physical Activity and Overall Wellness. Businesses can select criteria they plan to implement from these lists. The Progress Report is designed to be a working document and can be filled in throughout the Challenge period as tasks are completed. Varying level of points are earned for completion of criteria. All businesses achieving a minimum of 4 pts/category will receive a “Healthy Business” designation.
The Challenge is open to all businesses (profit and nonprofit) that have employees and an office/facility in Washington County. Forty-two businesses, ranging between two employees and 3,000 employees, have registered for the pilot year. Over 10,000 employees will be working in a company that is striving to create healthier environments for their employees. See a full list of businesses below.
A special thanks to Herald-Mail Media for setting up the registration on the Healthy Washington County site and to the Michael G. Callas Charitable Trust for making the pilot year possible.
